Locks at the start of the regular season

A team that is purposefully trying to lose must start a full lineup of active players, including a starting quarterback.

If a team fails to do so, the highest-scoring eligible bench player that week will be substituted into the lineup after the week concludes. If no bench player is eligible, the highest-scoring available free agent will be substituted instead.

The team will also forfeit their next available third round pick for a first offense, their next available second round pick for a second offense, and their next available first round pick for every offense thereafter. If a team holds multiple picks in that round, their own will be forfeited. Otherwise, one will be randomly selected.

Whether a team is purposefully tanking is determined at the commissioner’s discretion.
